Improving Performance by Changing Your Tyres

Do you want to easily improve your driving experience? We’ve put together a short guide to help you understand the different adjustments you can make to your tyres to improving driving experience. Changing your tyres to suit different seasons can improve their ability to optimise with heat, cold, rain or snow. In stormy or treacherous conditions this can make significant difference in stopping times and handling. With such a large variety of brands, types and services available. There is a huge range of options for your tyres.

Returning to Former Performance

Are you looking to return your vehicle to its former performance and handling? Have you noticed a difference in how it handles road conditions over time? Instead of searching for a different tyre type it could be better to replace your tyres with the exact model you have. After all, your vehicle was manufactured with these for a reason.

Improving Comfort

If you are not happy with how comfortable your vehicle is, you can achieve smoother driving by replacing your tyre type. Switching from a large diameter or low profile tyre to a touring type can help soften the drive significantly.

The Car is Pulling

If your car is pulling to one side it can be a pain to constantly correct it. Having the right wheel alignment can save fuel, tyre wear and steering/ suspension components. We use a specialised wheel balancing programme called SuperTracker 4 to ensure any type of vehicle gets the right tuning. This is not to be confused with the car pulling when the breaks are applied, this could indicate that the break pads need replacing. Click here to read about the other warning signs.

Tyre Pressure

Using nitrogen as an alternative to compressed air can have many advantages for the maintenance of your vehicle. Nitrogen is less likely to migrate through the rubber of your tyre and so pressure doesn’t fall as rapidly. Nitrogen also decreases the amount of humidity in the tyres. Water or water vapour could result in a sharp pressure change when exposed to different temperatures. Switching to a nitrogen filled tyre can save you a small amount in fuel and tyre maintenance costs, as well as improve your tyres performance.
